Margaret R. Brown, 82, an executive secretary at the Federal Aviation Administrations Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center in Leesburg from 1962 until her retirement in 1990, died Jan.29 at a nursing facility in Haymarket, Va.

Margaret R. Brown, 82, an executive secretary at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center in Leesburg from 1962 until her retirement in 1990, died Jan. 29 at a nursing facility in Haymarket, Va.

She had Alzheimer’s disease, said her daughter, Janice Kennedy.

Margaret Lavinia Reece, a native of Alexandria, was a 1948 graduate of the old George Washington High School.

She was a Sunday school teacher at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ashburn and lived in Sterling.

Her husband of 62 years, James Brown, died in 2010. Survivors include two children, Janice Kennedy of Falls Church and Douglas Brown of Sterling, and a granddaughter.
