Mixed-use developments, including residential apartments and retail stores and restaurants, are sprouting quickly in the 30-acre neighborhood surrounding the Twinbrook Metro station on Rockville Pike in Rockville.
The JBG Companies has already opened the 279-unit Alaire apartments, and the 214-unit Terano is almost complete. Next up is the Galvan at Twinbrook, a 356-unit apartment building.
The pedestrian-friendly Galvan will have 100,000 square feet of ground level retail space, including a Safeway and multiple restaurants; direct access to the Metro station; a Zipcar and Capitol Bikeshare station; a bicycle room; and a maintenance center in the building.
