Meghan Markle seems to be immersing herself more into Hollywood than being a royal nowadays.
Royal commentator Richard Eden has claimed that the “Suits” alum, 42, is starting to come off more as a “wannabe” of Tinseltown because her “success is no longer in her own hands.”
He recently penned for the Daily Mail how Markle’s appearance at the Variety’s Power of Women gala earlier this month made her look “less regal.”
“[She was] just another celebrity waiting to be interviewed by a reporter for ‘Variety’ magazine,” he scribed.
The expert continued: “She posed for photographers like the wannabe starlet she once was, before being rushed along impatiently by another guest.”
“Her interview emphasised that success is no longer in her own hands. She talked about the unnamed ‘exciting’ new projects that her television company, Archewell productions, ‘can’t wait to announce,'” Eden explained.
“But if and when she does announce them will depend entirely on their paymasters at Netflix,” he said.
At the bash, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that she’s working on new content and commented on how the recent increase in “Suits” viewership on Netflix has surprised her.
“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew,” she said about the USA Network drama. “We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.”
She then hinted at the projects people can expect from her and her husband, Prince Harry.
“[I want to make] things that make people feel — I was going say ‘good,’ but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right? And feel a sense of community,” the mother of two noted.
She went on: “But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating.”
Public relations expert Mark Borkowski also claimed that the former actress’ gala appearance signifies her desire to return to television and to get into the good graces of Hollywood.
“It’s a tactic and again underlines this constant need for recognition and more importantly, connection to fundraising activities,” he dished to Daily Mail earlier this week.
He added that it was allegedly “to send signals out” that she wants to work, and to get others hyped for her forthcoming productions.
